Luzerne County Community College has asked many of our .NET Valley members to join their advisory committee. An advisory committee is a group of employers and employees from outside the field of education who advise educators on the design, development, implementation, evaluation, maintenance, and revision of our educational programs. The purpose of this advisory committee is to provide assurance, though technical assistance and resources, that our program curriculum meets the needs of business, industry, labor, the professions, technical trades, and/or the community it is designed to serve, and the program graduates are capable of performing entry-level skills in the occupation in which they are trained.
Shirley Yanovich, the Associate Professor and Chairperson of the CIS Department at LCCC, said "Our advisory committee is an essential part of our college – it is a strategic link between the college and the community. Committee members, by sharing their expertise and knowledge, support the relevance and integrity of our programs. Programs must be developed in collaboration with professionals in the business community who can provide insight into the skills and knowledge required by graduates entering the field. We are looking to the advisory committee for experience and expertise to help shape our programs and the professional growth of our students while addressing the needs of the community."
The .NET Valley members who will be part of the advisory committee include:

- April Eaton
- Jason Gaylord
- Michael Lukatchik
- David Smith
